Waiting for Morning

Waiting for Morning
( looking out Beth and Alan’s window in Independence)
May 23, 2009

How great are Your works, O Lord!

The silver sky with its hints of blue,
Even the cedar with it’s many branches stands motionless,
Waiting for the sun to deepen its colors with burnished gold.
Awaiting the touch of the rising sun.

You, O Lord, are exalted forever.
(paraphrase from Psalm 92:5-7)

Your thoughts are very deep, O Lord!
Like the sky depths of deepening blue

Your thoughts call to my mind:

“I am faithful, my daughter.
“Lift Your hands to the Son!
“Dance and be glad! You belong to me!”

You are the Lord, that is Your name,
You will not give Your glory to another,
Or Your praise to idols. (Isaiah 42:8)

Lord, I worship You.
